Popular attractions you must visit in Oregon

There are certain attractions you must visit in Oregon if you are traveling or moving there. This state has so much beauty to show you. From forests and lakes to beautiful beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Oregon has it all. Sadly, Oregon is very underrated. But visiting the following few places in Oregon will make you appreciate it much more and better understand its beauty.

1. Columbia River

Number one on our list is the Columbia River Gorge. This beautiful river is located on the far north of the state, on the border with the state of Washington right where the Umatilla and Morrow counties are. That means it is only a few miles away from Portland. This river is very unique as it was formed by cataclysmic Ice-Age floods many centuries ago. It is situated in a valley and is over 70 miles long (which is more than 110 kilometers). Here you will be able to see dozens of waterfalls tumbling down the valley’s steep walls, which is not something you can see every day. And if you want to see this kind of things every day, moving to Umatilla or Morrow County with movingofamerica.com should definitely be your next move.

Any time of the year is the perfect time to visit the Columbia River. In the winter, this scenery looks like it is out of this world. Summertime is perfect for hiking and walking along the sides of the river. Spring is when nature here is blooming and autumn is the time of the year when nature turns golden. So whenever you visit, you will not want to miss a single second of this scenery.

The scenery will leave you speechless.

2. The Umatilla National Forest

Umatilla County doesn’t have just top cities for families, it also has picturesque nature that you can’t see anywhere else. And the best place to go and enjoy the beauty of nature is the Umatilla National Forest. This forest is very big. It’s perfect for family camping trips. Words just don’t do this forest any justice – you have to go and see for yourself how beautiful it is. Spending just a few hours there will make you relaxed and carefree. But be careful where you go as there are wild animals roaming around the forest.

3. Mount Hood

The stunning backdrop of Portland is Mount Hood. It is the tallest peak in Oregon. This is one of the attractions you must visit in Oregon as soon as possible. This scenery attracts people from all over the country. There are also many beautiful ski areas that you can visit if you like to ski. But have in mind that these trails are packed during winter. Climbing to the summit of Mount Hood is another popular activity but not everyone can do it. You need a lot of practice before you can climb this peak.

Words can’t describe how beautiful Mount Hood is.

If you want to be able to look at this scenery every day, we suggest you hire help when relocating your home to Portland. You might simply be too distracted by the beauty of this mountain.

4. Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway

This is a place you should definitely visit during the summer as you will be able to go swimming, fishing or boating on the beautiful lakes. Lakes formed by ancient lava will take your breath away. They are so beautiful that you won’t be able to comprehend that they aren’t man-made. The beginning of this route is in the city of Bend continuing towards Mount Bachelor. The mountain is amazing too and we recommend climbing to the top. The view from the top of the mountain is all you will want to look at for the rest of your life.

This is also one of the places where foreigners buy a property and turn it into an income property by renting it out to tourists.

5. Crater Lake National Park

This is one of the most popular attractions you must visit in Oregon. Crater Lake is what remains of a volcanic eruption that occurred on Mount Mazama 7,700 years ago. Just hearing this has you amazed. Imagine how you will feel if you see it in person. For thousands of years, nature has been working and making this place look the way it looks now. Tranquil sapphire-blue waters will make it hard to look away. This area is a hiking paradise with 90 miles of trails winding through the national park. A guided boat tour of the lake and its central island is a must too.

Even if you are nowhere near Southern Oregon, we suggest you take out the time and visit this beautiful place as it is like nothing in this world.

It looks even better in person.

6. Cannon Beach

Number six on our list goes to Cannon Beach. This is just one of many beautiful beaches on the Pacific Ocean in the state of Oregon. Cannon Beach is one of the most popular of the seaside resorts that stretch along Oregon’s 300-mile coast. It is named after a cannon that washed ashore after a shipwreck. It is located 80 miles from Portland so if you find the time to travel to this wonderful beach, we think you won’t regret it. On this beach, you can find the largest of the monolithic rocks that dot the sandy shoreline and provide a nesting ground for sea birds. Spending summer days by this beach sound like a great idea. This is also a perfect place to start a business in Oregon as there are many tourists.
