How To Tell If Your Home Is Really In Need Of A Bathroom Remodel?

(Article submitted by Laura Anderson.)

It is highly essential that the bathroom remains kept up and clean the most out of all rooms in the house. Sanitation is as essential as ensuring it is free from leaks or other malfunctions. A downside of not having a kept-up bathroom is dealing with water leakage costs, inefficient pipes and many other issues. Little problems are natural when you use your bathroom constantly for years. Most significant issues are disguised as minor shortcomings, so it’s important that you pay attention.

You can easily get in touch with contractors willing to renovate your bathroom for a reasonable price through Easefix. But what if the thought of remodeling your bathroom has never crossed your mind? In this article, we will tell you a couple of ways to identify whether your bathroom requires a renovation.

Breaks and Leaks

It’s time you finally do something about those cracks in the floor tiles and ceilings and the leakage from faucets. Minor cracks are bound to happen, but they can damage your water system if you leave them unattended for a long time. Too much damage may require you to get a bathroom remodel.

Leaks and breaks tend to happen due to the moisture in the air, and when mold forms because of the trapped moisture. It is wise to repair damages the moment you identify the cracks to avoid further seen or unseen destruction.

Lingering odors

Pipe leaks may eventually cause nasty or unpleasant odors, which signifies that you need to renovate your bathroom. Start by having the contractor replace walls that have irreparable mold growth. The best way to fix pipe leaks is to upgrade the pipes to more modern ones. You even have the chance to install technology with water-saving features.

Rusted faucets and toilet leaks

If your bathroom appliances are so old that it starts to rust, that’s a sign that you need an upgrade towards better replacements. Ignoring rusted faucets will only cause more damage, and the rust will increase. You also increase the risk of contracting tetanus. On the contrary, a pretty well-kept bathroom with shiny new faucets is elegant and can do wonders for your mental health.

Similarly, watch out for old toilets and leaks. Try switching to a newer updated model of your toilet to minimize water wastage by converting it to something eco-friendly.

Lack of storage

A good amount of space is crucial for a tidy environment in your bathroom. If you have all of your belongings cluttered up on a shelf, mold and moisture can easily target your items. Therefore, it is wise to safely keep important stuff like sanitary items or medicines in a cabinet. If you run out of space to put your things, that is your cue to renovate your bathroom and install more storage.

Tired of how it looks

You may sometimes walk into the bathroom and feel bored by the mundaneness of it. Or if the out-of-date layout is making you feel cramped and claustrophobic. Your bathroom should also be your comfort place since you are the most vulnerable in that area. It is only vital that you give it a makeover to feel comfortable within the walls. You can paint your bathroom and give it a fresh new look. Try adding more storage or more wall decorations, or pleasant bathroom scents.

Ashamed of guests using it

Whenever a guest asks to use your bathroom, do you hesitate, feeling ashamed of how your bathroom looks? If yes, that is your sign that your bathroom needs a new remodel. How someone keeps up their bathroom tells a lot about one’s personality and the importance towards hygiene. People might interpret an unkempt bathroom as a lack of interest towards hygiene. If you renovate your bathroom the way you like, you will no longer have to be ashamed.

In conclusion

The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in your house and certain issues may require you to get it renovated. We have looked at various situations in this article. If you notice breaks and leaks, it is suggested you call a professional to renovate your bathroom. Another instance when you notice faucet rust or toilet leaks is a huge sign that your bathroom requires remodeling. Sometimes when you do not have enough storage, it may be wise to install more storage for your convenience and safekeeping. You may feel you need a renovation when your bathroom is outdated and boring, and you’re tired of looking at it. It is completely okay that you feel that way because even bathrooms are supposed to be our comfort places. Create a space where you are not ashamed when guests ask to use the bathroom.

We hope this article proves insightful and allows you to figure out if you should get a bathroom remodel. Thank you for reading!
