Stanfield: Agricultural Town South of Hermiston

Originally settled by the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples, Stanfield was transformed in the early 20th century by irrigation projects that turned dry high desert into productive farmland. Stanfield grew alongside Hermiston, supplying crops and supporting the larger regional economy. Today, it remains a quiet, close-knit community at the heart of Eastern Oregon’s agricultural corridor.

Where is Stanfield?
