Q: When will collection begin? A: Collection will begin on July 7, 2026. There will be a map posted on Pendleton Sanitation’s Facebook page showing when neighborhoods will have their recycling bins emptied.

Q: Will the recycling bins be collected weekly? A: Every two weeks.

Q: What can I put in my bin? Please refer to the image below:

Q: Glass isn’t mentioned in the image above. Can I put glass bottles or other glassware in my bin? A: Glass cannot be recycled in the bins and must be recycled either at the collection site in town or at the main Pendleton Sanitation Site.

Q: Why can’t I put plastic bags, shredded paper, plastic lids or buckets into my recycling bin? A: They’ll jam the machines.

Q: Are other bin sizes and colors available? A: Nope. The bin size and color weren’t chosen by Pendleton Sanitation.

Q: Can I return the bin to Pendleton Sanitation if I don’t want to participate? A: Yes, but you’ll still see the $8 increase on your monthly sanitation bill.

Q: I have comments / complaints / compliments. Should I direct these towards Eastern Oregon Living? A: No. Contact Pendleton Sanitation at 541-276-1271.
